International Maritime Academy Bozic is the first international maritime school in the Republic of Croatia founded in Split. Within the Academy there is a department that offers professional guidance to the participants and takes care of the possibilities for their employment. We offer theoretical education in modern equipped classrooms and practical education in the most modern simulator instruction room.

FRUIT GROWER

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

Given the diversity of fruit in the Republic of Croatia, as well as the favorable climatic conditions for growing fruit, there is a need to adopt this type of training program. The Fruit Grower training program will provide trainees with the opportunity to formalize their knowledge and skills if they already work this job and thus increase their competitiveness in the labor market.

The program has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, which has been prepared according to the recommendations of the European Union’s Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency(EACEA).
Upon completion of the program, the trainee is issued a certificate of training, a public document prescribed by the law of the Republic of Croatia, with registration in the e-work booklet.

Competencies acquired by students:

1.Select and plan the types and varieties of fruit trees to grow with regard to the environment and growing conditions,

2.Prepare soil for planting fruit trees and establish orchards

3.Distinguish, select and use appropriate procedures in the cultivation, harvesting and storage of fruit,

4.Operate the tractor and attach and operate the tractor attachments safely

5.Choose and use the tools, appliances and machines to work in the orchard properly,

6.Identify and control diseases, pests and weeds in the orchard by applying the necessary protection measures,

7.Carry out hygiene measures when growing fruit,

8.Apply proper procedures for packaging, transportation, delivery and sale of fruit and calculate production

9.Apply occupational safety measures and dispose of waste materials properly.

The Fruit Grower training program will provide trainees with the opportunity to formalize their knowledge and skills if they already work this job and thus increase their competitiveness in the labor market.

Program can be enrolled by a person with:

  • minimum completed elementary school
  • minimum 18 years of age
  • an appropriate driver’s license to operate the tractor
  • a certificate of fitness for a fruit grower.
