PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

A significant increase in the number of the elderly population as one of the socially vulnerable groups in the total population number enhances the need for social care and social services on which depends the quality of life of older people. For this reason, the program and the training of potential attendants, will contribute to the development of social services for the elderly in their homes and local communities in order for them to continue living in their own environment, to improve the quality of their lives and to actively participate in the life of the community.

The program has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, which has been prepared according to the recommendations of the European Union’s Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency(EACEA).

Upon completion of the program, the trainee is issued a certificate of training, a public document prescribed by the law of the Republic of Croatia, with registration in the e-work booklet.

The services of gerontology home nursing cover several main areas:
 organizing a diet
 assistance in carrying out household tasks and garden maintaining
 help in maintaining personal hygiene and health care
 psychosocial support
 mediation services between users and social institutions in order to realize different rights
